Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a team sport that was originally played by Native Americans as long ago as AD1100. Now it is played with a lacrosse stick, with a mesh on the end, and a hard rubber ball. Players catch and hold the ball in the mesh and pass either overarm or underarm to other members of their team, or try to score a goal in their opponents' net. Opponents can tackle by striking lacrosse sticks and trying to bounce the ball away.

The original game, played many years ago, had up to 1000 men on a team and was played on a huge field for 2 or 3 days at a time! Now there are 10 members per team, including the well wrapped up goalkeeper.
