We have recently had lots of fun making felt - felt pictures, felt beads and felt balls - and, although you will need to gather a fair bit of equipment and the process is quite energetic, we think the rewards were really worth it!

Here's a felted medal craft to do with the kids, that results in a safe medal that all ages can wear with pride! Perfect for the Olympics, of course, and a good excuse to practise some simple sewing skills.
Use wool roving and plain white felt to make your own felted Olympic rings. Please note that felting needles are extremely sharp and children will need to be very well supervised in this activity, which is more appropriate for older children!
Making felt is hard work but very satisfying - our children were thrilled with their creations, and enjoyed all aspects of the process! Younger children will need supervision, especially when the hot water is involved.
