Anything you can do to help children learn to recognise the shape of letters, both upper and lower case, is well worth it - but if it is as fun as a playdough mat, too, well that's a bonus! Print these and use them as one-offs, discarding them at the end of the session, or laminate them for repeat use. Use different colours of playdough and press on beads, feathers, sequins and buttons if you really want to go to town! Use them for "letter of the week" or perhaps start with your child's first name initial.
